Asked whether Vance is Trump’s heir apparent, Ted Cruz declined to answer, saying his focus was on the “most consequential midterms of our lifetime.”

“We are in the midst of a discussion and debate about who the Republican Party is,” he told Dasha Burns on “The Conversation.”
