Novatek can redirect LNG from European to other markets — CEO

ISTANBUL, October 22. /TASS/. Novatek is ready to redirect supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from European to other markets if the EU ban on Russian LNG imports comes into force from January 1, 2027, CEO of the Russian gas producer Leonid Mikhelson said on the sidelines of the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.

"The world is large, it can be supplied anywhere," Mikhelson said, answering a question about redirection of supplies if the ban becomes effective.

Mikhelson also commented on reports that the United States proposed to Europe to resume of Russian gas and oil purchases. "Everyone speaks about the tension between the US and Europe but these proposals tell exactly the opposite. The Americans are thinking of industry not to fall in Europe at a pace occurring now. A huge loss of jobs is taking place in Europe. I hope there is still time to reconsider the decisions," he added.
